Liverpool striker Danny Ings remains hopeful he can recover from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in time to play for the Reds again this season.
The Mirror is reporting Ings' injury is not as bad as first thought, with no damage to the other ligaments and muscles around the knee.
Ings was originally ruled out for nine months, but is reportedly optimistic he can return to playing competitively quicker than that.
Ings is set to undergo surgery on the injured knee on Tuesday and may still be hlding out hope of representing England at Euro 2016.
