Liverpool striker Carroll cops ear bashing from Newcastle fans

Liverpool striker Andy Carroll copped an earful from his former Newcastle United fans at Anfield yesterday.

Liverpool's £35million hitman came on as a second-half sub in the 3-0 win over his former club and was greeted by non-stop hate.

The England centre-forward, 22, suffered chants about his personal life and songs about being a 'greedy b*****d'.

And Kop boss Kenny Dalglish warned: "I think when he goes to St James' next year he'll get it again, so he won't have put it to bed. But he's a young boy with broad shoulders.

"He's only had a couple of days in training because of his knee injury, so it was better for us to start with other people than Andy.

"We've got to try to get him back to fitness and that would have helped him."
