Liverpool striker Bobby Adekanye says U18 coach Steven Gerrard has his players hanging on his every word.

Speaking with Voetbal Zone, Adekanye discussed playing for the Reds legend.

"I play for Liverpool youth, but in the Youth League I do so with the Under-19s and Gerrard is the under-19 and under-18 trainer," he said.

"Gerrard is a very good trainer. I did not expect that first because he did not say much, but now I work under him, I notice it. He always comes with a good speech, talks with us after the matches. He motivates me and keeps me strong. He has also had difficult phases in Liverpool's youth, he has told us.

"He is a serious trainer with whom you can laugh too. He wants us to finish as high as possible in the Youth League. "
