Mario Balotelli is being investigated by the Football Association after posting an alleged anti-Semitic Tweet.
The Liverpool striker made a post on Twitter portraying Nintendo character Super Mario accompanied by an anti-Semitic message.
Balotelli later removed the Tweet from his page before posting the following: "My Mom is jewish so all of u shut up please."
The Italian is now the subject of an investigation by the FA and will also be spoken to by Liverpool officials.
"We are aware of the posting which has since been promptly deleted by the player. We will be speaking to the player about the issue," said a club spokesman.
