Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli is in talks over a return to AC Milan.

The Mail on Sunday says Milan have opened talks about a return for Balotelli. The Italians sold Balotelli a year ago for £16million and are discussing taking him back on a subsidised loan.

Balotelli took a flight from Manchester airport on Saturday morning to Verona and met up with Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic and his assistant Nenad Sakic in Prato, just outside Florence, where Milan face Fiorentina on Sunday.

Mihajlovic worked with the troubled forward while he was assistant coach to Roberto Mancini at Inter.
