Steven Gerrard has been named the 2012 England Player of the Year at the first Football Association awards night to be held at St George's Park.
The Three Lions and Liverpool captain received over 40% of the fans' votes on TheFA.com to win his second national team player of the year award following his 2007 triumph.
Gerrard beat Manchester United's Danny Welbeck and Chelsea's Ashley Cole to take out the prize which he received from England legend Sir Bobby Charlton.
Gerrard, who made his 100th international appearance against Sweden in November, said: "I still feel fresh, looking forward to the next game as much as my debut. Every time you put the England shirt on, it is a proud moment.
"It's always special to be recognised by supporters. You only have to look in the players in the team so it's special."
