Philippe Coutinho was named the winner of the 2016 Samba Gold Award in December.
The Liverpool playmaker joins an illustrious group of Brazilians who have won the annual prize voted by journalists, current and ex-professionals and supporters.
Coutinho's sublime 2016 has seen him follow in the footsteps of such players as Kaka, Thiago Silva and Neymar.
After being presented with the Samba d'Or at Melwood on Wednesday, Coutinho told Liverpoolfc.com: "It means a lot.
"I'm very happy to know that this past year I have been recognised by many people.
"It was an important year for me and I'm very happy to win this award."
Coutinho beat Barcelona ace Neymar and Real Madrid's Casemiro to the award with almost 33% of the vote.
He becomes just the sixth player to win the Samba d'Or since it was introduced in 2008 joining Kaka, Luis Fabiano, Maicon, Thiago Silva and Neymar.
