Liverpool squad not as strong as other top teams - Chelsea's Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is of the belief that Liverpool do not have as strong depth as some of the other top clubs in the Premier League.

The Reds dropped their second match of the season when losing 2-0 to Arsenal on the weekend but they remain third on the table, equal on 20 points with second-placed Chelsea.

But Mourinho has indicated that he feels Liverpool may drop off the pace as the season progresses due to a lack of squad depth.

"Liverpool are probably the club with least resources because, while their team looks as strong as the others, their squad doesn't look quite so strong," he told Chelsea's official magazine.

"At the same time, they don't play in European competition, so they only play one match a week, so they are training, preparing and resting for the weekend match while the rest of us are playing in Europe."
