Liverpool are battling AC Milan for Standard Liege midfielder Axel Witsel.
The People says Liverpool have offered £10m for the 22-year-old, whose club rate him at £13m.
Milan sporting director Ariedo Braida watched him in action on Friday for Belgium in their Euro 2012 qualifying draw against Turkey.
And it was not a good night for Witsel, as he blazed a match-winning 74th-minute penalty over the bar.
