Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard says qualifying for the Europa League is their target for the remainder of this season.
Liverpool's improved form has elevated them to sixth in the Barclays Premier League table, just four points behind fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
Gerrard told liverpoolfc.tv: "The aim for us is to try and sneak back into Europe come the end of the season.
"We've got eight games left and we want to finish as high as we can. Next year, hopefully we will do a lot better in the league and be involved in the title race for a lot longer.
"We'll try as hard as we can to make sure that happens. Hopefully we can finish the season strong, re-group in the summer and then come back fighting next year."
