Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard is refusing to consider finishing second behind Premiership leaders Manchester United.

The midfielder said: "To be honest I don't even want to talk about second place. I'd rather stay positive and talk about trying to get first.

"We want to win it. If we can't win it then obviously we'd want to finish second, but while it's still possible to finish first we have to fight and give it everything we've got."
