Steven Gerrard is dismissive of Liverpool's current position of seventh in the Premiership, insisting they must improve. Three months ago they were in the relegation zone after a disastrous start under Roy Hodgson but the return of Kenny Dalglish nearly three weeks ago has sparked a change at Anfield.
The Reds are now within six points of fifth-placed Tottenham but Gerrard has warned there is still room for improvement.
"We want more than seventh, seventh's not acceptable at this club," he said.
"If you look where we were a couple of weeks ago, of course we're happy being seventh.
"But we've got Stoke next and it's important that we keep this run going and try to get another three points and move up the table even more.
"We're not happy with seventh."
The 30-year-old midfielder has noticed the change his boyhood hero Dalglish has brought about at the club.
"Training has been slightly different, different coaches (former Chelsea assistant manager Steve Clarke was recruited) coming in with different ideas and different methods," he added.
"The training over last couple of weeks has been very enjoyable and I think the lads are taking that out there.
"Certainly at Wolves we played with freedom and the lads were superb."
