Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish will hand skipper Steven Gerrard a playing comeback tomorrow night against Carling Cup opponents Brighton.
Gerrard, 31, has come through his rehabilitation programme from a groin problem but Anfield medical staff have been anxious for him not to play until he is ready.
Sunday's trip to Tottenham came too soon for Gerrard but the target for some time has always been to use him in Liverpool's Carling Cup tie at the Amex Stadium.
