Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard clashed with former teammate El Hadji Diouf during victory over Blackburn Rovers.

The Sun says the Liverpool captain blew his top when he felt Nikola Kalinic had dived and ex-Reds star Diouf stepped in to stir things up.

The pair continued their feud at half-time and had to be kept apart, before police officers spoke to Diouf as he re-emerged.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez said: "We prefer to do our talking on the pitch."

Rovers manager Sam Allardyce quipped: "Did Steven Gerrard not say anything to Dioufy then?"
