Liverpool's Steven Gerrard may miss summer friendlies for England because of a shoulder operation.
The Three Lions captain is set to have surgery after the Premier League season ends on May 19 and if that goes ahead, he will be sidelined for international meetings with Brazil and the Republic of Ireland.
England play the Republic of Ireland at Wembley on May 29 and then travel to Rio de Janeiro to play Brazil in the Maracana on June 2 but could very well be without skipper Gerrard who could be recovering.
