Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard rates Jay Spearing and Krisztian Nemeth as two to watch for next season.

"Krisztian looks really lively and sharp up front, and he's scoring all the goals for the reserves," he told liverpoolfc.tv. "It's difficult to put a time on when he's going to get into the first team because he's still young, he's still learning. But he's got a lot of ability and a bright future.

"I'm sure Rafa (Benitez) will have an idea of when he's going to be ready but he's already joined in with the first team in training and he's always held his own.

"There are quite a few players I could have chosen. Jay Spearing is a fantastic player. He's only a small guy but ability-wise he's certainly got it in abundance."
