Liverpool skipper Gerrard attempting to allay dreams of Premier League title

Steven Gerrard insists he is trying to avoid daydreaming of winning the Premier League title.

The Liverpool captain can smell an elusive league premiership which has evaded him for his entire career and been unattainable for the Anfield club since 1990.

33-year old England skipper Gerrard, who sees the Reds two points clear on top of the table, has won all top honours at club level with Liverpool except the league title but he is not about to sit back and watch this opportunity slip away.

"I think I'd be a liar if I said no," was Gerrard's response when asked by LFC TV if he had dreamed of winning the Premier League title.

"It is flashing in and out of my mind from time to time, but I am trying to get it out as quick as it is going in because nothing has been achieved yet.

"It is important for myself and the players to try to not forget about the dream but try to park it up, as dreams only happen when you get the job done and there are six hard matches still to play."
