Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard rates Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam.
The former Reds teammates will face-off when Gerrard's England meet Scotland tonight.
"I've gone in head-to-head against Charlie before," said Gerrard. "He is a technician, a good footballer. You can't give him time and space because his strengths are passing and creating chances. He is also certainly a danger from set-pieces.
"We're not sure what kind of line-up Scotland are going to put out but Charlie is certainly one of their stronger players who we will have to take care of.
"Was he unlucky at Liverpool? I don't know. You could say every player who has been sold or moved on has been unlucky. But he has gone to Stoke and done well.
"Everyone at the club wishes him well because he is a great lad off the pitch as well.
"Have there been any texts between us this week? We've been in touch, yes."
