Divock Origi was sorry to disappoint Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard in the US.
Brendan Rodgers has spent £10m on the 19-year-old Belgium frontman after he impressed at the World Cup.
But he's been immediately sent back to the Ligue One club on a season-long loan deal to get more experience.
Origi said: "Steven Gerrard told me it was a shame I could not be here immediately, and they were expecting me with patience. I also met Daniel Sturridge - that was nice."
