Liverpool signing Maxi Rodriguez has had a pop at his former Atletico Madrid coach.

Maxi fell out with both Quique Sanchez Flores and his predecessor Abel Resino while with Atletico.

"The main reason I found myself on the bench in Madrid was literally down to the whims and the decisions the manager makes," he said.

"Latterly there was talk of me moving, interest from other clubs, but the main reason I was out of the team is that the manager decided he didn't want me in there.

"I hope to be playing more minutes on the field. It's a World Cup year, but I'm just concentrating on Liverpool."
