Liverpool signing Maxi Rodriguez gave a teary goodbye at his final media conference yesterday with Atletico Madrid. Maxi was back in Madrid to say his final goodbyes and thank fans for their support.

"I want to thank the fans and the entire club. I find it very difficult to speak, because I spent very nice years here and for me it was the best years of my career," said the Argentine.

"I was here for many years and the club always treated me very well.

"It was tough making this decision, but I've always liked challenges. It is a new experience and probably will be my last years as a professional in Europe."
