Liverpool signing Rickie Lambert hopes his success inspires others in the lower leagues.
Lambert will play for England in the World Cup having made his way up the football pyramid.
He said: "It has been quite a journey and the way it has gathered momentum is frightening.
"I had a normal job and I don't think many Premier League players have had that.
"Not many Premier League players come from League Two or League One, either. They are mostly from the academies.
"I hope what I have done is give other people hope - I think it will."
