Liverpool signing Rickie Lambert says skipper Steven Gerrard is destined for management.

Lambert joined the Reds last week from Southampton.

He said of Gerrard: "I think he can go on playing for England for a number of years - he's still world class in my opinion.

"I also think he'll make a manager, although I haven't asked him what his plans are.

"But he's got the qualities as a person and with his knowledge of the game, he's got all the attributes."
