Liverpool are set to land Manchester City midfielder James Milner. The Mirror says Milner will quit Manchester City to join Liverpool on a free transfer.

Milner is ready to choose Liverpool over Arsenal, despite the Reds failure to make the Champions League, because he believes he will have more opportunities to play his favourite central midfield role.

Liverpool are prepared to offer the midfielder a contract worth around £100,000-a-week to make him one of their top earners next season.
