Liverpool have joined the battle for Dundee United youngster Scott Allan.

The Daily Mail says Kenny Dalglish hopes to fend off competition from Rangers, Celtic and West Bromwich Albion for the Scotland Under-21 cap.

The Baggies have already had a £400,000 bid accepted by the Tannadice club, but Allan's future remains up in the air.

Allan has played only six first-team games for United, yet is rated as the best talent the club has produced in a generation.
