Liverpool are being linked with Uruguay defender Maxi Pereira.

Record says Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is keen on bringing in Pereira, who would cost around £7.5m.

Pereira is being considered as a long-term replacement for Glen Johnson.

England defender Johnson has just 12 months remaining on his deal though, and will have to accept a reduction in wages if he wants to stay at Anfield.
