Liverpool are tracking Villarreal defender Mario Gaspar.
The Sunday Mirror says the Reds watched the Spanish under-21 defender in Villarreal's Europa League defeat to Sevilla on Thursday night.
Liverpool are seeking a new right-back with Glen Johnson coming off contract in June.
Barcelona are also watching developments but Liverpool may be tempted with Villarreal likely to consider around £7m for Gaspar whose contract expires in 2019.
