Liverpool are stepping up their pursuit of Lazio striker Keita Balde Diao.

The Daily Star says Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has had chief scout Barry Hunter working the Italian transfer market.

Diao has been a long-term target and Rodgers is set to firm up his interest this summer.

Ex-Barcelona striker Diao, 19, has caught the eye at Lazio but would also cost around £25m.
