Liverpool's Suarez insists he is feeling fine

Luis Suarez has told Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish that he is not in need of a break.

The Reds striker has hardly had a rest since last season as he spent most of the summer on international duty for Uruguay who took out the Copa America in Argentina.

Suarez, who was Player of the Tournament, has had just one week off since arriving at Anfield in January but he says he is feeling good at this early stage of the Premier League season.

"I want to play in all the games I can for Liverpool," he said. "I don't want any rest at all.

"Despite only having that week's training before playing again, I'm only 24 so I felt good.

"I was glad to get back to training at Melwood as I had been missing that whole atmosphere around the training ground and wanted to get back to playing at Anfield. So it was really special for me to get back."

And Suarez says he wants to be at the forefront of a Liverpool team which gets back to the past glories the fans are used to.

"We want to get Liverpool back into the Champions League and maybe win a cup," he added. "But we also want to get as high as we can in the league.

"It might be a little bit early, but if there's a chance to win the league, we'll go for it.

"Bringing all the players in is very positive and I hope they can help return Liverpool to where they should be, which is aspiring to win league titles.

"All the players have that same ambition. I know that after winning the Copa, I want to win things with Liverpool.

"Kenny is the one who has signed the players, but those players have all come to Liverpool with the same ambition to make the club win again.

"Nobody comes here with any airs of being better than anybody else. They come with the idea of playing in the team and making the team, the squad and the club better."
