Daniel Sturridge is out of England's friendly with Brazil on Sunday because of an ankle injury.

The Liverpool striker required a stretcher to leave the Wembley pitch on Wednesday night after supplying Frank Lampard with the equaliser in the eventual 1-1 draw and manager Roy Hodgson suggests it is more serious than just a knock.

"It's ligament damage, we think," said Hodgson. "It will definitely keep him out for the Rio game and we think it will keep him out for a few weeks."
