Daniel Sturridge has been sent to Los Angeles to undergo rehabilitation on his thigh injury.
Soft tissues injuries have kept the 25-year old striker out of action since the beginning of September and Liverpool have now decided to send him away in a bid to aid his recovery.
Sturridge has travelled to California with some medical staff from the club for some warm-weather training but will not have any surgery on his problem area.
"He has gone away to get some specific work in with some of our staff and he is coming along well," said Rodgers.
Sturridge, who scored 21 Premier League goals last season, is expected to be sidelined until the New Year.
