Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing has emerged as a target for Bolton according to reports.
The 23-year old has fallen down the Anfield pecking order under Brendan Rodgers and it is believed that the Trotters are looking for a defensive midfielder to bring to the Reebok Stadium.
Bolton boss Owen Coyle admits he is a big fan of Spearing but stopped short of saying whether or not the club would make a move for his services.
"It's fair to say we're always going to be linked with players in that area, because we've said that's the type of player we're looking for," he said.
"Jay Spearing's a wonderfully talented young player, but he's a Liverpool player and it's not for me to comment on anybody's players."
