Liverpool's Skrtel incurs ban for violent conduct

Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel will serve a three-match ban after an independent Football Association disciplinary panel rejected his appeal against a violent conduct charge. The Slovakian stood on David De Gea in the last seconds of Liverpool's 2-1 home defeat by Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday.

The 30 year old said the alleged stamp had been unintentional.

Liverpool have refused to comment on the decision.
