Liverpool's Rodgers: Emre Can will be able to play in any team in the world

Liverpool boss Brenda Rodgers believes Emre Can has an extremely bright future ahead of him.

The 21-year old German midfielder was brilliant in the Reds' 2-0 home win over Burnley on Wednesday, starting as one of three centre-backs, before moving into his more preferred role in the middle of the pitch.

Can had a difficult beginning to life in the Premier League after joining Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer but Rodgers feels he has now adapted to the English game and could become one of the better players in the world in years to come.

"I look at him and I think if you give him another couple of years he could play in any team in world football - that is how highly I rate him," said Rodgers.

"Whether he is central or wide you can see his football intelligence, he breaks through lines with his power and pace and he has great composure.

"The crowd love him because he does the dirty work as well. I really think he will develop into a real world-class player."
