Adam Lallana has admitted that he looks up to Liverpool and England teammate Raheem Sterling.
The 26-year old midfielder may be seven years older than the talented winger but says that he admires the way he plays and how he takes everything in his stride.
Lallana also touched on the recent media negativity that Sterling received when telling England manager Roy Hodgson that he was too tired to start against Estonia in the last Euro2016 qualifier in October.
"He's brilliant," Lallana said. "He's six or seven years younger than me, but I kind of look up to him and the way he plays.
"He deals with a lot of pressure at such a young age, and the way he's performed for club and country is quite exceptional.
"It all gets blown out of proportion by you guys. We're just happy to play football, and maybe for him to be too honest he's come in for some unfair criticism. He a top lad and a great player.
"He's still only 19, he's got a lot of developing to do and I'm sure he'll tell you that, but the talent he is he's obviously better on the pitch than off the field for England."
