Liverpool's Dirk Kuyt was flying high after scoring for Holland in their opening World Cup win over Denmark.
Kuyt's performance was lauded by Dutch legend Johan Cruyff and the versatile forward welcomed the praise but insisted that he was just doing his job for the team and not getting carried away from an individual standpoint.
"It a tremendous compliment and something of great significance to me as Johan Cruyff is Holland's best ever player," he said.
"I just did my best and will continue to do so. First of all I fulfilled my task on the right side then as a central striker.
"This is a wonderful team with fantastic players, so that makes it easy for me. I will play where the coach needs me.
"It does not matter, I just want to start every game. The team is most important, not the individual."
