Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt was delighted he was given such a warm reception from FC Utrecht supporters during Wednesday night's Europa League clash.
The 30-year old kicked off his career with Utrecht back in 1998, making his name at the Stadion Galgenwaard, before leaving for Feyenoord in 2003.
When he came on in the 73rd minute of the scoreless draw, the crowd showed plenty of respect for the Holland international who was happy with the response.
"That's great," he said. "The supporters from Utrecht were unbelievable, just like the Liverpool supporters.
"After seven years, to play against them and get a crowd like this it's unbelievable and showed a lot of respect, and I'm very thankful for that."
