Liverpool's Gerrard hopes Arsenal young gun Wilshere can get extended England run

England captain Steven Gerrard is of the belief that Jack Wilshere has the ability to become a regular in the national team.

As the Three Lions prepare for Wednesday night's Wembley friendly with Brazil, the Liverpool star felt his Arsenal counterpart was ready for big things provided he can avoid further injury woes.

"I think if he stays fit he's got the talent and the ability to be a top player for Arsenal and for England," Gerrard told Sky Sports News.

"He's had a disappointing time with injuries and I've been there myself. I hope he can get a good run in the team."
