Liverpool's Gerrard to have precautionary knee scan

England captain Steven Gerrard will undergo a scan on his knee ahead of the friendly with Sweden on Wednesday.

The Liverpool skipper injured his knee in yesterday's 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and the Football Association has now confirmed he will have the precautionary scan.

"Steven Gerrard will have a precautionary scan this afternoon, having reported for England duty on Sunday evening following Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Chelsea," read a FA statement.

Liverpool are confident that the star midfielder will be ok to take the pitch in Stockholm for his 100th international appearance.
