Today at Anfield, thousands of Reds supporters were joined by the present day squad to remember the 96 people who were tragically killed at Sheffield Wednesday's ground during the FA Cup semi-final with Nottingham Forest in 1989.

Those present held a minute's silence to remember those unfortunate and the event was welcomed by Aurelio who believes it is vital things like this are never swept under the rug.

"It is difficult to forget and get over a tragedy like that," he told LFC TV.

"But the club and the players will always try to give the support in every quantity we possibly can.

"We will never be able to compensate those parents but I think it is always good to have a moment to reflect and support them.

"It will not be a great day for them to remember but I hope they have our support and feel strength on this day and they can carry on with their lives."
