Liverpool's Borini to have surgery on foot

Liverpool will be without Fabio Borini for up to three months as the striker is set to undergo surgery on his foot.

The former AS Roma man broke a bone in his foot whilst on duty for the Italy U21 team and will now have an operation which will see him sidelined for at least 10 weeks.

The injury leaves Reds boss Brendan Rodgers with just one recognised attacker in Luis Suarez after Andy Carroll was allowed to join West Ham United on a season-long loan.
