Fernando Torres has been rated the best striker in the world by teammate Yossi Benayoun.

The Spaniard has made a fantastic return to form after earlier struggling with injuries and it has not been lost on Benayoun.

"The goals he scores are unbelievable - he is the best striker in the world," said Benayoun.

"Look at his first goal against Blackburn, he's always a threat, and makes it look so simple too. It's always easier for us as a team when he is playing."

Torres' double against Blackburn on the weekend was just the tonic for the Reds ahead of Tuesday's huge Champions League quarter-final against Chelsea in which they find themselves down 3-1.

"It was really important we responded after the disappointment of the Chelsea defeat, and Saturday's win has restored our confidence," added Benayoun.

"We know it will be very difficult at Stamford Bridge. We'll just give 100 per cent and try our best.

"You never know in football - anything can happen."
