Liverpool's Aquilani likely to join Juventus permanently

Liverpool flop Alberto Aquilani is increasingly likely to sign a permanent deal with Italian giants Juventus.

The 26-year old midfielder joined the Reds from AS Roma for around £17million in August 2009 but did not make an impact at Anfield as he dealt with constant injuries.

But since his return to his homeland he has slotted in nicely for the Old Lady with sporting director Giuseppe Marotta indicating he may be at the club on a permanent basis from this summer.

"Aquilani has been a pleasant surprise, he arrived in the middle of a bad period and we are very happy with him," Marotta told Sky Italia.

"On our side there is every intention to keep him.

"At the right time we will talk with Liverpool and I believe the price is negotiable."
