Liverpool have expressed interest in Nottingham Forest striker Ben Brereton.
The Sunday Mirror says Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, who is anxious that young domestic players are not overlooked, has made a personal phone call to Nottingham Forest this week, via chief scout Barry Hunter, to ask about Brereton.
The teen hot-shot has been playing for Forest's Under-23s at age 17, and has long been targeted by Manchester United.
So far, Brereton has acquitted himself well, scoring 15 goals in 20 games.
