Liverpool revel in record-breaking Melbourne crowd

Liverpool Football Club was absolutely delighted to announce that the attendance for their friendly with Melbourne Victory broke a record in Victoria.

The Reds and Victory attracted 95,446 to the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground for Wednesday night's pre-season clash which saw skipper Steven Gerrard and new signing Iago Aspas score in either half for a 2-0 win to the visitors.

LFC Tweeted that the attendance figure was the biggest in the state of Victoria as well as being the second biggest for a football match in Australia.
