Liverpool return to Lyon talks seeking to restructure Fekir deal

Liverpool are seeking to restructure their previous deal for Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir.

The Daily Mail says the Reds will demand the fee for Fekir, 24, is restructured so it is paid over the full length of his contract.

A five-year contract has been agreed with the Frenchman meaning Liverpool want to pay the £53million fee over that timeframe, according to the Mail.

And it's all because of ongoing concerns over his knee problem which was picked up in his medical.

Fekir, who could feature in Sunday's World Cup final, has reached an agreement with Lyon owner Jean-Michel Aulas to reopen talks with Liverpool.

The attacking midfielder has met Aulas twice at this World Cup where they discussed the transfer still going ahead.

He was so close to joining last month that his welcome interview was done with LFC TV only for the plug to be pulled after the medical. Fekir has since been left in limbo.
