Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers was over the moon with how his team responded on Monday night.
The Reds put behind them a two-game losing streak to defeat Newcastle United 2-0 at Anfield and the manner of the victory, which saw the Merseysiders go within four points of fourth-placed Manchester City, was something that resonated well with Rodgers.
"We have won 10 of 13 games but have had two disappointing results," he said.
"It is always a crisis when you lose games but we knew we had to respond and got ourselves into the [FA Cup] semi-final and won tonight.
"There are teams above us but as we have seen last year that there can be changes and points dropped and I think there will be changes."
