Liverpool have moved ahead of Real Madrid in the queue to sign Roma's Alisson Becker this summer.
The Brazilian goalkeeper is a key target for both clubs, as they want to strengthen their goalkeeping position.
But it could be Liverpool where he plays next season, after Real Madrid cooled their interest in the 25-year-old.
Italian outlet TMW suggest that while Liverpool's first offer of £57 million was turned down, they are preparing a second offer.
And since Real are not willing to go to such a high fee for the keeper, Liverpool have a clear run at Alisson.
It is possible the player will stay in Rome for another season, but a big enough offer would be impossible for the Italians to reject.
