He is a versatile player who can play as left-back or left winger, just the type of player Roy Hodgson will need as Liverpool look for a further improvements to his fortunes, says the Daily Mail.

Italian giants Juventus are believed to also be in the running to sign Ziegler, who could be tempted to link up again with his former Sampdoria coach Luigi Del Nieri.
