Liverpool remain favourites to land Derby County midfielder Will Hughes.
The Daily Star says Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is a long-term admirer of the Hughes, but are also facing interest from their fellow Premier League top-four chasers Arsenal and Manchester United.
The midfielder is expected to move to Anfield in the summer thanks to the close relationship between Derby and Liverpool.
Liverpool's assistant manager Colin Pascoe revealed last week that the club are working hard to bring in the team's targets.
"The scouts and everyone behind the scenes are looking at players, which players to bring into Liverpool Football Club," he said.
"It's always ongoing, not just in January or in the summer. It's always ongoing.
"We'll be looking at different players and I'm sure there are targets, if we want or need them, to bring in.
"You get your targets, whatever you want, you go out and assess certain things - nothing changes."
